No soldering required, just plug & play. ANF -- automatically attenuates beat tones, tuning signals, etc., even if they are moving. Works in SSB, FM and AM modes. NR -- reduces noise components and picks out desired signals which are buried in noise. The received AF signals are converted to digital signals. Works in all modes. Both ANF and NR features are accessed through the on-screen controls. When the ANF button is clicked on, an on-screen light comes on to visually let you know that Automatic Notch Filtering has been activated. NR activation is also shown by an on/off light, and the Noise Reduction level can be set via a knob on the toolbar.

If you are into weak signal work, the optional UT-106, DSP
unit, is a must have. This add-on gives you noise reduction and auto notch
filter functions to improve the S/N ratio for improving the received signal
quality.
